Things you will need for your new puppy.
Bed I would highly recommend a crate for this but if you
don’t wish to use a crate then a plastic dog bed with a warm blanket.
Bowls You will need at least one for food and one for
water. The stainless steel ones are best because then puppy can’t EAT them!!!
Collar All dogs by law are required to wear a collar and
identification disc when out and about. It is a good idea to get puppy used to
wearing a soft, lightweight collar as soon as you can. A nylon collar that expands as the puppy
grows means you don’t have to keep buying the next size up.
Toys Whilst here your puppy has been introduced to many different types of
toys. A puppy needs to play and be stimulated or he will find his own
entertainment, usually your furniture or walls!!! There are hundreds of toys on the market but the best are: the
buster cube, the activity ball, the biscuit ball, Kongs, Pedigrees rubber
selection, soft cuddly dog toys.
Grooming Nail clippers and a soft brush or grooming
mitt.
Vet
Bed This provides your dog with
a nice warm and comfy surface to sleep on and also helps to protect their
joints. It is easy to wash and dry.
Raised feeder These are especially useful for large breed dogs, as
it prevents elbow joint problems. It
also aids digestion and can help to prevent certain ailments, such as bad stomachs,
diarrhoea, and other problems caused by your dog gulping their food.
Long line Your puppy should never be
allowed to run free until it is properly trained and is proven to return to you
EVERY time you call him. A long line
gives your dog a bit of freedom to move away from you during his walks, but you
remain in control.
Poo bags These are extremely useful
for making sure that you are able to clean up after your dog, regardless of
where you are. Nappy sacks are a
cheaper alternative and smell nicer.
Car
guard This is useful to prevent
your dog from jumping around the car, being injured in case of an accident or
injuring passengers.
Waterproof seat covers Labradors don’t care how they get into the car, as
long as they make sure they’re not left behind. Waterproof seat covers are ideal, for when your darling Labrador
has found the nearest bog, muddy puddle or river. Remember that your Labrador doesn’t need to see water. If he can smell it, then he’ll find it!!!
